FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Grande Prairie Airport is pleased to announce improved customer amenities that have commenced in recent days.
Effective Sunday, July 08, 2018 a recently announced second passenger security screening line began operations and will be available during peak periods to reduce processing times for travelers.
“The operations of a second PBS line was announced in late May and after four weeks of facility renovations by the Grande Prairie Airport and the installation of new equipment by CATSA the service is up and running”, says CEO Brian Grant. “The second line is operating at our summer peak period which is 4:00am – 8:00am seven days per week and is providing a vast improvement in passenger processing times.”
In addition to the PBS improvement the addition of a confectionary in the secure holdroom opened Sunday to replace the previous vending machine service. “We have been in the planning stages for improved beverage and food selections in our holdroom area in response to customer comments. The time was ideal to add the facilities for a confectionary since we were doing major renovations to that area of our building for PBS already”, indicates Mr. Grant. “The replacement of the vending service with a wider selection or beverages and fresh food items along with snacks and magazines is something that we are pleased to provide and it will help to entice travelers to proceed through security earlier which will also assist in further reducing wait times at peak periods.” The new confectionary will be open during the hours of operation of the security holdroom. Hot meals and licensed beverage services will continue to be offered as usual in our second floor restaurant and lounge.
