FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Grande Prairie Airport Commission is pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority for the provision of additional screening equipment at the Grande Prairie Airport.
“We have been lobbying for a second PBS security line to alleviate long queuing times during our peak periods since November 2017” says Brian Grant, CEO. “In recent weeks we have been in discussions with CATSA to determine how we may best work together to secure additional service. The airport is committing additional funding and project management for renovations to the screening areas to accept the additional equipment in order to expedite the completion timelines” continues Mr. Grant.
The second PBS line is intended to operate during peak periods to improve passenger throughput and reduce wait times. Completion of the installation project is scheduled for early June, 2018 with operations to commence shortly thereafter.
We wish to extend our appreciation to CATSA and Garda for their commitment to the work involved in achieving this significant improvement to our customer experience.
Brian Grant, CEO
