While we realize that air travel is a key point of concern for the potential spread of the virus we also understand that this essential service is a necessary form of travel to our region.

Today we announce flight and Air Terminal time changes for the period of May 05, 2020 to June 04, 2020.  Both Air Canada and WestJet have advised of the following changes:

Air Canada will have one flight arriving from Calgary on Monday/Wednesday/Fridayat 4:00pm and departing to Calgary at 4:25pm.

WestJet will have one flight arriving from Calgary on Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday at 4:00pm and departing for Calgary at 4:30pm.

The Air Terminal Building will be accessible to the public on Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday from 2:30pm to 6:00pm during this time.

In addition to these operational changes GPA wishes to remind travelers that effective at 10:00am today a non-medical face mask or other suitable covering is required for air travel.

Communications with air carriers, airports, government officials and local authorities are ongoing to review the needs of the community.

“It is incumbent upon our airport to do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our region”, says Brian Grant, CEO. “We recognize our responsibilities to provide essential service to the region and as such the airport continues to remain open as usual 24 hours per day 7 days per week to all other users.

The Grande Prairie Airport has a dedicated monitoring team active 24 hours a day to ensure the most relevant information and updates are carefully reviewed and operations are adjusted accordingly.

We wish to remind the public that the Grande Prairie Airport does not have direct air service to any locations outside of Canada and arriving passengers from those locations are being monitored under the direction of our federal and provincial authorities at appointed ports of entry including international airports.
